GNO ISACA/Infragard Cyber Security SIG joint meeting:

 John McCumber of Symantec

Analysis of the Internet Security Threats of 2008

If you saw the 60 Minutes story on the conficker worm a few weeks ago, you only saw a brief overview of the cyber security dangers in 2009.  In 2008 more than 1.6 million new malicious code signatures had to be created to stop malware. The surge in malicious activity primarily targeting computer user's confidential information  is the result of attackers relying more and more on customized malicious code toolkits to develop and distribute malicious exploits. Find out who is doing this, what specific information they are targeting and why this affects US consumers and what affect this is having on individuals and companies. How do these threats affect your personal information and what should you do to protect yourself, your work and your family?  Join us for  our first official joint meeting of the Greater New Orleans chapter of ISACA and the /Infragard Southeast Louisiana Membership Alliance (ISELAMA) Cyber Security Special Interest Group (SIG) in New Orleans.
